STACKED

Architecture | Model Making

FALL 2021

Stacked explores the playful dynamics of basic shapes, combining cylinders and rectangles into a visually captivating and exploratory space. Adhering to fundamental geometric principles, it strikes a balance between distinction and harmony, fostering an environment ripe for discovery and interaction. It transforms simple forms into a creative playground, encouraging users to engage imaginatively with their surroundings.

The integration of planar ground organization with natural elements like boulders further enhances the site's playful aspect. These boulders, strategically placed across the landscape, do more than just blend with the natural surroundings; they invite visitors to interact with the environment in a new way. Serving as impromptu seating areas, they draw people towards the facility's amenities, encouraging exploration and the discovery of hidden nooks and crannies.

DESIGN

CLAY MODEL

Utilizing oven-baked clay, I sculpted boulders that form a series of informal play areas, fostering spontaneous activities. These boulders, along with the primitive shapes of the structure, emphasize a connection to the elemental, enhancing the playful interaction with the environment.
